Those Who Remain moves slowly through villages where time is measured by light on stone walls, not headlines. We stay with people who mend, remember, and return — not to argue a case, but to notice how a life holds its shape when much around it thins out.
Season One follows craftsmanship, emptying streets, essential people, and the land as witness. The camera stays close enough to hear breath between sentences — observational, patient, unwilling to rush a sentence that took seventy years to form.
This site is a quiet table of contents: episodes, context, and a door to the Voices archive, where stories from elders across Bulgaria gather on a map.
